EC North Dakota | The drain board wants to put in a new dam on our pasture. I could sell it for $1400/ acre for 320 acres. Their appraisal came back at $800 and they've offered 30% of that for the right to flood it whenever they choose, for as long as they need.
Their position is I won't get flooded much, so no big deal.
Mine is they want to give $240 an acre to drown my cows whenever they need and possibly long enough to kill the grass. I would have to figure out how to truck the cows out whenever they flood.
I told them they're too far off, they say they can't raise their #s more than a bit without another vote.
What do I do from here?
