I think "limit down" on a single corn contract would be somewhere around the same dollar value as "limit down" on a single feeder cattle contract, so maybe that's where they decide to set the limits at? Somewhere around $1,500? Anyway, it's different exchanges CBOT/CME so I guess they just make their own rules.
