Subject: weaners?

jackson county WI
My buddy was able to pick me a few up yesterday. 2 of them appear to be missing their milk. One is a Holstein bull and has taken rite to feed through not to worried about him but the other is a fat little 200# shorthorn. I showed him to the waterer and put a little on his nose but he didn't seem interested to drink. Last calf I had like this last fall started getting a little thin and health trouble, I put him back on milk for a few weeks and slowly weaned him and he took rite off after that. Shall I sprinkle a little milk replacer if there pellet? I know that will invite flys to their feed
