Subject: RE: Bowl/cup waters vs regular nipples

Eastern Iowa
If water waste is a main concern, look at cup or trough waterers. IMO, pigs do best with the swinging nipple waterers I have in a flush pit finisher, but in that case the extra water helps with pull plug operation. I had adjustable nipples mounted to the gates originally but they were a source of injury. The swinging ones are in your way when you are sorting, but at least the buggers don't hurt themselves on em. I use cups in the deep pit barns.
