BC, Canada
We run a Claas so I have a biased opinion. I have worked on a lot of Jaguars and also a couple JDs, newest being a 7400.

We have a 830 with a RU450 head. No complaints with the head in medium to tall standing corn. In short or downed corn it's terrible!

The Kemper 4500 is a good head. I wouldn't be worried about it.

A Claas 840 is a good capable machine. Belt straight off the engine to the cutter head makes power lose a minimal. Have a good stock of replacement knives and wear parts on hand as well as knowledge to do most repairs and maintenance yourself. You will be happy with either machine in my opinion.
