Rick, I don't doubt that it can be done.  Seems like if dry lotted they need to be fed like dairy cows for a few months anyway. 

The economics may be there for dry lot cow/calf in good high-dollar, high yielding Iowa/Illinois etc corn ground.

There are other areas with hills and not as good soils or climate where cow/calf may be a better use for ground than corn.
