Do not make them too fat! Unless you know for a fact a buyer will pay a premium for fat cows. Medium thin cows need 3-4 weeks of good feed to be in perfect condition to get premium prices. Age is usually not a concern and sometimes the old gummer cows will get in there and out perform the good solid mouth cows.
