Subject: I got the new feed roller and grinder home from Oklahoma

Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251

We diddy-bopped 400 miles to Quinton Oklahoma yesterday and picked up a Peerless roller mill and a Gehl grinder mixer I recently bought to grind my own corn.

Long day - We left at 5am and hit a terrible rain/wind storm going through Joplin.  We passed into Ok and had a pretty drive - the grass is really coming on down there and the cows looked fat and happy. I was surprised at how little wheat we passed.  What we did see looked like it was getting close.

We got off the turnpike at Big Cabin and said "How" to the big Indian.  Someone was hauling a military plane all wrapped up. In Crowder OK we stopped at the Sinclair station and the owner came out and pumped the fuel and they had a working phone booth.  When was the last time you saw that?  We had passed over a big lake and the attendant kept asking me if I followed the lake?  You follow the lake?  You follow lake?  He kept on asking and I finally told him I had no idea what it means to follow a lake.  He explained the name of the lake was EUFAULA but I was hearing:  U folla lake?   I almost busted a gut I laughed so hard.

We got to Lipska feed where I bought the mixers and they were great people.  Had a nice Versy too.  They backed the one grinder on and we hooked on to the other.  They let us use their shop to switch tires and repack the bearings.  They had a really nice feed bagging line.  I really enjoy meeting fine people like that.

We took off and other than a funny sign at the truckstop where we gave the buffet a beating, we had a uneventful drive home.  I lost the flat tire guessing contest.  I guessed we would blow four but the winner was zero flats which suited me just fine at 1:15am when we pulled in.
