Northwest Iowa | I have this old (20 years) low ceiling freestall barn that was always difficult to cool in the summer. Not having any more space to add more stir fans and not finding a way to justify a total replacement of the barn, we decided to give this a try. Added 13 60 inch fans that move 29,500 cfm each to the end of the barn. Before the barrels were put in the rafters, my consultant's wind meter was showing a 7 mph breeze in the alley and a 4 mph wind at cow level in the stall. The baffels have made a huge increase at cow level and will have that checked in the next week. The fans are sized to completely change the air 3 times per minute at full speed.
