Upgrading EZ Guide 500 from WAAS to OmniStar

GPSNUT is correct. The 500 has the ability to work with Omnistar but won't unless you pay the one time unlock fee and switch antennas. You would also need to pay the Omnistar folks for their service. They have different plans which include short term or yearly service fee arrangements.

The cost of doing it "right away" or waiting is essentially the same. Personally I started out with WAAS and planned on switching to Omnistar if and when I thought it necessary.

This tractor is not used for row crop planting and I have been happy enough with WAAS.

My Planting tractor uses a Trimble332 with Omnistar activated (pretty much the same game). There the 332 feeds the Autopilot which in turn communicates with my Insight.
