We took it on a 100 mile trip and when you are cruising there is no difference, when I accelerate you can hear it and I am sure when I get in the mountains I will hear it more. The important thing is that my wife didn't complain and it makes no difference when listening to the radio. Being a born gear head the hum is music to my ears. I drove a Dodge Cummins around for 15 years that had a straight pipe and the cops never bothered me. It's a lot quieter than a lot of the Harleys that run around here.
