If people want to know how many bears live in the Arctic Basin or East Greenland, it will require added funding.
But the well studied groups cover a large swath that is fairly representative of the Arctic, so it is likely that the other groups are seeing similar population trends. Notably, of the 12 sub-populations that are well studied, 8 are in decline and only 1 is growing.
