Central Texas
Have you checked with Kencove about this? Suggest calling them. Used a lot of their products with little problem but when problem encountered they were great to make it right also they give good advice. Website says they have metal in plastic to keep wire from cutting thru. Wonder if wires are pulled so tight that they are actually cutting thru to metal and shorting out.

Have used quite a few of the heavy (not kencove) black bullnose insulators with no problems. Other types not so good.
