Western Nebraska | From my little research, one source says the virus is always present. Just needs an injury to hide to start growth. Which sounds correct from my experience. Warts on top of neck where cable from bunk line rubs, and also from bangs tagger in ear. I asked a vet about them last year, he said the OTHER vet you had bangs tag used dirty equipment.lol Maybe not totally wrong, possibly a combo of not disinfecting between animals and just plain having the virus present.
One of these big warts in the ear, I sliced it up a bit last time through chute and heifer acted like it really hurt to cut on it. Looks like mushroom on inside. Gross.
