If not counting grass and milk i used to figure the calves would get a 3:1 gain on creep feed. That was just ground barley with nothing else added. I would get about a 5:1 with cattle on full feed grain and grass. 8:1 with cattle on full feed grain and hay. This all is just counting the grain intake.
