Sunnyside, WA
Need more information about your herd first.

I prefer our tail chalk methods and seem to run 68% HDR and 24-25% PR on cows with 50 dim VWP and an 80%+ HDR and 50% PR on heifers with a 13 month VWP. One prosta at 47 DIM then breed. 2nd prosta at 61 dim to any cows not bred the first time. Heifers get prosta at 12.5 months, then 13 months and breed, then 13.5 months on those left to breed then CIDR at just under 14 months. End up using Ovsynch and CIDR's on less than 20% of the cows at 71 dim and very few heifers. Ovysnch all open cows. Not buying any heat detection monitors, but never say never.
