Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | No fall. There is some on the upper reaches, but by the time it has enough water to be a big river, it is all pretty flat. Hydropower needs volume and head, which unfortunately isn't always common.
The real problem with more hydropower development, is unfortunately, dams are a bad word. The environmental movement has taken it so far as to basically turned hydropower into a non-renewable energy in most cases, very rarely do you see anything other than 'mini' hydro (usually less the 100 kw) labeled as renewable. I can't think of anything that is more renewable myself. | |
