South Central NE | Badger, I have actually seen people use that method as well... Can you guys imagine what someone who has never been exposed to this thinks? I have a cousin at Galesburg, IL with whom I compare notes from time to time. He thinks irrigation looks like too much work and too much expense. But, when he is in the middle of a drought his attitude seems to change. I always tell him that at $15000/acre vs our $10000, they have the irrigation money invested without reaping the benefits of flexibility, consistency, etc. When we have compared yields thru the years mine have always been as good or better, and sometimes much better than his. Of course, I always mention that farming is a part time job for him... Thanks to the OP. | |
