NC | Normally I don't sit and buy, but I had to go to the stockyard to pay a bill and cows were selling and we didn't have a buyer sitting in that day.
So I sat for 20 minutes and bought 3 cows.
thought I got a great buy on one that I thought had foot rot. Got it home and in the chute and ooooppppps it had a thin scar all the way round its foot just above the hoof. I poked around and found a spot that looked a little abseesee and poked at it a bit to see if I could get it to drain. Not much drained out but I opened up a spot and barely noticed a solid bloody line horizontal to the ground deep in the hole I opened up. Poked around some more and got to thinking it wasn't a ligament or anything natural running that direction. I cut it and pulled on the end. Stripped out a long bloody piece of really thin string(think kite). I think I may have fixed her problem :)
Second one just had a calf.
Third one is still alive and eating good.
20 minutes well spent. Way too much good luck my first time out.
