Nebraska aka the boondocks | "things don't add up??" that is just part of the deal!!! I had one landlord, that I don't rent from anymore, whom I rented about 350 acres from. I didn't have mapping before I rented it, but did at the end. I could never understand why the numbers of actual were so different than the rented amount. To the tune of 19 acres. Well, legally, the land owner owns half the road, and the ditches etc. etc. So what I rented was not farmable ground but everything. Some people use legal, some use farmable and some just use whatever. When I was audited in 2008 for crop insurance, that "nice" man didn't seem to care what I said about "actual" planted acres, or what I turned into insurance, he just used whatever he found from fsa. Believe me, the errors add up. |
