Yes it is a self launching glider.

A pretty slick glider at that.

Much like most gliders ( Sail Planes ) it has one load carrying main wheel and some out riggers.

No Signs of Air Breaks, which I would like to have if it were my little toy.

Seeing as their is no weight loss as he burns off electricity, it simplifies the Weight and Balance.

I forget the battery life for flight those packs have but I think it is at least 45 minutes. Use a ground tow for launch would save a lot of power, and then he could push his luck on lift, and if it plays out have enough power to make the field.

It would be an interesting rich man's toy.

Take it to Colorado and Catch a Mountain Wave and shoot up to 42,000 feet.
Launch in West Virginia and ridge soar all the way to Georgia.
Go to the plains and catch a cloud street and fly from Texas to Montana.
