Mason City, IL | I have good luck with Clorox. Doesn't burn me either. If its bad at the blistering stage I'll scratch it open a bit with a regular kitchen knife and put some Clorox on it. Stops the itch and helps dry it. White shoe polish works better than calamine too! Another one to try is to wet a fels-naptha soap bar and work up a small cream and put that on the area. Dries it out. If the itch is really bad and you can't get hot water to the area, try a hair dryer. The heat will cause an intense feeling that I can't describe. Don't know if it feels good or intense itch for a short time and then the itch is gone for awhile. The heat causes your body to release the histamine that causes the itch all at once and depletes the body so no itch until your body builds them back up. Have used the hair dryer on some really strange ares to stop the itch when I had ALL over. | |
