south texas | Love your story. My jody is a duck dog, we used to guide in the laguna madre with guys who would bring these 1k plus dollar dogs that lived in town and never hunted. Jody was an accident when her mom(Chesapeake bay retriever) got out of friends pen durring heat and found love with a neighbors german sheaperd. Jody was $25 with first round of shots. We hunted 5 times a week before kids so she was good. One time she shoulder butted a huge black lab bc he was getting her duck. Another time a guy brought a dog that refused to retrieve. He would walk out with it, tease it and it just sat there and looked. Jody got a duck, placed it in front of the dog and shook off then then left. The guy caught hell from the whole crew for rest of the day. Pics is jody deciding that im not shooting enough ducks so she will sit with another who is. Black one is jodys replacement but still in training by her. She will go hunting and let shelia get the duck back to the shore but check her and take the duck back to me. I should have put this first but im very sorry for your loss.
