OK...that's kind of how I imagined their product worked w/VFR plans. Actually, just "filing" a VFR plan gets you nothing unless you activate it. It's purely for S&R reasons. When I flew over the SW states in little planes I'd use VFR plans w/in-flight reporting of fixes & estimates for the next fix. Same way we used to do IFR when there was no radar coverage of large areas. That was done for separation purposes for IFR, but again for S&R for VFR. I doubt there's any continental USA areas w/no radar coverage these days...at least @ IFR altitudes anyway. |
