Dayton, OH | Hi agtalk! It's been a long time since I've posted an update, but we've been busy. I'll give the whole story from the beginning if anyone's missed some of the action.
I grew up on a farm in Ohio, my dad has always farmed hogs so I've had plenty of time in the pen. I went on to become a chemist and then an engineer, pretty much worked in the aerospace/defense industry since then. A couple years ago he was complaining to me about his sensaphone so I decided to take a look. I was starting to play with Arduino and Raspberry Pi and when I saw that Sensaphone with wires everywhere hooked up to Dad's landline, it really got me thinking. I figured there had to be a simple way to monitor temps/power/water pressure without all the wires, right? People seemed to be monitoring their laundry wirelessly so where why were we doing barns through wires? I got together with one of my friends who is an electrical engineer and we got to work. Fastforward a couple of years and as of today we have a full-fledged system with wireless sensors uploading data to the internet and 12 actual paying customers with over 100 sensors in the field.
