| We usually make a steak supper or something on the grill if we do not go out and eat. Mine is a big time gardener / landscaper type person and always needs a tree, bushes or plants or some kind of statue / ornament, so we always get her something for that.
One year I got her a semi load of mulch, and another I sandblasted their last name on a rock, I dont think I could have gotten her anything better :-), the kids always make the cards, and give something they made in school, thats what its all about right there.
For my wife, its, I take the kids away after she gets brunch made by me, or out to eat, cards, and usually that job around house thats been put off forever, gets finished.
When momma's happy everyone is happy, :-)
