Subject: RE: What ate my fence?

Elmira, Ontario

I don't recall seeing porcupines here either. There are beaver in the region, I suppose, but we are several hundred feet from a very small creek that is usually dry. Quite a few years ago, we had some coons that got into the trees in our yard. I don't know how they got out that time. Lots of rabbits, even a skunk once in our flowerbeds. There could be coyote and fox in the bush around here as well. I hope it's not coyote. Our dog is just 12 lbs and wouldn't do so good in that battle.

A couple of the boards look like they were tore apart, while a couple look like they were chewed down. There doesn't seem to be nearly enough debris for the amount of wood missing. This wood is so soft, any animal with teeth and claws could have gotten the job done in a few minutes if they were desperate.
