I think her remark may have been quite appropriate.  Baptism represents a changed life, new life.

I agree that the change should come before the baptism, but some times we get things out of order.

And I agree with those who say the water does not do the work.  Some do baptize infants don't they?

I thought it was a good joke/line and BTW I take baptism seriously.  It is a very personal choice.  Water boarding would involve a very personal choice also.          : )
