Lets compare prices of computers too while we're at it. Today's computers are several multiples of power more than the ones in 1980, so the cost should be several multiples too, right?

Technological advancement should make some products cheaper over time. There's not a clear way to make a hamburger cheaper. You put in X lbs of ground beef, you get out X 1/4 pounders. With corn, now you put out X acres, X seed, and X fertilizer, we're now getting X*Y b/c of advances in technology. Unless you're Taco Bell and putting in X of burger and Y of horse meat, that's not really happening there.
