NE SD
Yes they are good for the money so not worried about that at all. Yes they apply 20000 gallons/ac but its nearly all water so not a ton of nutrients but from what he says it would theoretically be enough to grow the next years corn. Not all the N is available and they would not apply every year.
He wants a dual purpose hybrid so he gets the best feed value. He claims at his original dairy the guys have about a 20ton/year average but the farmland around this new dairy is not nearly as good of ground as it is around his original dairy and my 10 year corn average is only about 130 -140bu/ac on this farm.
I am afraid that there could be 130-140 bu corn and only have 12-14 ton silage. This is not light sandy ground but its a very heavy type dirt that dries out and does not hang on when we miss those july rains like some of the ground will.
