Well, putting some hedges on as Ray suggested to at least keep what you gained on futures isn't such a bad idea............of course doesn't he also claim a hedge is only something you guys plant in the backyard? Anyways,even I, as one of the supposed Doom Bears said a few weeks ago, I don't think I would be dumping the basis on this corn now(in the Dakotas ) Keep in mind that even though there are some who can't see it getting better now, also thought I was smokin' some of BC 's finest last year when I was talking about a basis cliff. It's been a transition year from extreme tightness to lots of supply in that part of the world. That makes basis and spreads pretty volatile, that's just the way it is. I bet it gets nearly impossible to buy grain trailers as the market figures this thing out. Ray mentioned guys looking south.IMO Here's one of those things thats not like other........
