Subject: Re: Question for striptiller and Jim at dawn

Driftless SW Wisconsin
The mound left in the spring after fall strip till varies somewhat by soil type. However one of the goals of strip till in general is no net soil movement. This is NOT ridgetill where soil is regularly moved laterally.

The mound created by our Dawn Pluribus units is mostly air. By spring time the mound is usually about level with the surrounding soil.

We always recommend and use a set of Trashwheels on the planter, run very lightly, when planting into strips whether made in fall or spring.

There is a very good photo from SD of what fall-made strips in bean stubble look like in the spring south of Salem SD.

I don't have that picture on this device to post but if you go to our website www.dawnequipment.com and click on the strip till guidebook link on our home page it's in there. Caution there are a lot of pictures in the guidebook and really works best on high speed connection better than dialup.
