ec illinois champaign | the rest of the story,,once it was decided to be sold, the current tenants were given an opportunity to make offers on the parcels they were farming,,if it was accepted, they got it,,if they did not make an offer or if it was not accepted, it was going to auction,,anyone else anywhere in the world then had to opportunity to make offers on any parcel,or parcels,,if accepted that parcel was then removed from the auction, even tho the date was set and it had been listed,,several sold prior to the auction,as for not saying what you paid for a pc of real estate, you dont have to go to the courthouse in champaign county,,all those sales will be posted in the paper on the day they list real estate transactions with prices shown,,yes the hoopeston farm no saled,,farm south of allerton had about 10 acres that were not tillable in that and i think it sold on total acres,so the cost per tillable acre will go up quite a bit,,,there was a good 88 acres that sold west of tuscola in the last 1-2 weeks,,9,500 an acre i think,,ground in southern champaign county area has softened considerably from 6-12 months ago,,most will tell you 1-2,000 an acre | |
