That would not be recommended in most cases with the seed in a narrow band such as a narrow knife or
disc drill. You could get by with a wider shovel pattern. Some agronomists over the years have recommended
zero fertilizer with the seed. And there is a reason for that. N and K are high in salts and can hurt the
germinating and small seedlings.
