you are correct about the live vs carcass prices. I remember sometime in probably the late 80s when hogs were even or maybe a little higher than cattle on a live to live basis. I still remember the guy on KMNS out of Sioux City (who leaned heavily toward the cattle side) giving the markets, I could see his head shaking in disbelief through the radio.
