Northern Illinois | you posted about a week ago concerning how to reap some of this old crop soybean price with your new crop soybeans. I suggested that bear spreading is one way to do that.

if you look at what the price has done sense your question you can see that a bear spread would have added about $.70 to your new crop price.
Just pointing this out because it is my belief that we as farmers need to market our products (either grains or meats) more like a commodity trader would and less like a farmer marketing service would advise us to. Many very successful commodity traders will trade spreads. It is something that we as farmers need to look at more then we do. | |
