Central Iowa | I had some bought and quickly replaced it with a different corn. Quite simply my problem is not with the trait, but the risks involved with growing it on my farms. I need to tie up more bins to keep it from getting mixed with non-duracade grains, I need to clean out legs and dryers between varieties, and I need a place close to sell it. From my location I am nearly 75 miles to the closest Gavilon, now are they paying for transportation or providing transportation? The elevator that I normally sell to is 8 miles from my bin site so we are talking a difference of 8+ loads a day to the elevator to maybe 3. And am I assured that I am going to get fair market price? I wish I could use the trait on my farm but at this time there are too many unanswered questions and risks involved. | |
