se montana | Not a great start to calving my old cows. First calf was born a week ago, he was weak, but I tubed him and kept him alive. today, I made my circle and discovered that 3 cows had dropped dead calves in the past 24 hours. These are old cows, and it was 60 degrees over here yesterday. This stuff just doesn't happen in 3's. 2 of the three cows didn't clean.
Sometimes the audience of this forum amazes me with small, subtle ideas that we just don't think about up here. So... amaze me please. btw, I took 2 of the dead to the vet for a post, but I have NEVER in 14 years learned anything useful from a post.
this puts me at 75% death loss thus far, and 2 months of calving to go.
very concerned tonight.
