Farmington IL
We are much like you. Corn, cows, and feedlot. Crop ground and pasture strung out over 10 miles. We start almost everyday together doing chores. If the planter is in the field, someone goes to the planter and the other one does chores. At calving time in the spring we will get back together and take care of anything that could wait. On a couple occasions we have had to park the planter and go to the cows. Summer time we normally do chores together. A lot of times then one of us goes to do hay while the other does the crop stuff. If something is urgent we will be together. Busy mornings in the fall I do morning chores and nick heads to the shop to get the combine ready. At 5pm someone leaves and goes and does the feedlot chores. When cows are in pasture we try to check them at least once a week. A morning we are moving grain or maybe rained can be weclome time to get this done. Winter time we are together a lot. We do chores, work in the shop and do chores. Dad is around some to do some tractor driving for us spring and fall.. College kid has been around last couple summers. We have a combine driver. He only drives the combine, nothing else but it is a huge help in the fall. Today we are 80 miles apart running different errands. Tomorrow probably be standing in the shop 8 feet apart.
