Subject: debt to asset ratio

SE SD

We are currantly looking at a posable purchase of more land.
Our current debt is 6.5% of assets, mostly livestock inventory and a
short term note on iron. Have tried to stay as debt free as we can.
Our land is debt free and the piece we are looking at is 25% of the
value of our owned land. After the down payment, that would put
our debet to asset ratio at 27.2%.
Would that be a Comfortable number? The payment would be manageable.
This purchase would create an opportunity for the next generation and allow us
an exit with a smoother transition.

Just a thought- Some times I wish my Dad had been more of a risk taker.
I sure seem to be more and more like him every day.
(not complaining, I'm darn proud and gratefull to be his son
and very thankfull and blessed to have him as my Father
