Velva, ND | Asked same questions last week. Retailer 1: "if you can figure out a way to store on farm it wouldn't be a bad idea". Retailer 2: " If u have product booked, we will have your supply here (or probably already do). If u come in and ask for product not booked, it could affect those people. Truck product will be extremely tight and to start ordering cars on April 20 with the hope of getting them for in-season use is not a possibility."
Was at the ND corn growers annual meeting last week for only one of two days and didn't hear any update on Fert plant. Also there are more and more farmers to the west and south of me in the heart of oil country coming together and erecting their own NH3 fill stations. By eliminating middle man they calculate a quick payback saving 50-75/ton at times.
