+1 on trying to load the tame ones. They just stand there and they are too big to push. Don't want to beat on them but that doesn't work very good anyway. Thinking I might need a prod for those but don't like that option either. Can be very frustrating.
I always had trouble getting those extra-tame cows to move into the chute so I bought a prod a couple of years ago. That worked good. Last fall I didn't even need to shock them, just tapped them with it and they remembered. I could have saved a few bucks if I would have just borrowed a prod once and then made a fake one :)
I've got one that's tame to the point of being dangerous. When I'm feeding them she gets right up to me. Not worried about her, I'm just afraid she'll get shoved and I'll get pinched between her and something else. Still, I would rather have a bunch of too-tame ones than one wild one.
