Subject: RE: AFTER A COW HAS CALF

West Central Arkansas
I've always heard of the 9-day heat and have witnessed several in those few days post calving. I've been told that the pregnacy rate at this stage is very low.

Universities and AI companies recommend synchronization at great than 45 days post calving. I've found that percentages of estrus is much higher after 60 days post calving.

A stated in a previous post, CIDR inplants are suppose to jump start anestrous cattle.

Good information can be obtained from Iowa Beef Center home page.
