You would think the problem of lies usually being found out would not sit will with the image people in big oil. Although, with our current political climate being available to the highest bidder (all the way to the top, R and D), I think they can and will get away with it for a while. The question is whether folks on their own will push back when they've heard enough. It happened with the tea party when a few folks actually looked at what the constitution says.

I think big oil could find themselves on the outs if the political wind changes due to public push back. It's not like folks are all giddy about gas prices as they are anyway. Seems short sighted unless they actually are just positioning to own ethanol production and want to pay bargain prices - worked once before.
