Beresford, SD | The ones from Sat were high. 605 @ 1.8225. Just looked a receipt 73 head. Yeah, $1101.99/head. All of them are Herford F1's Black, red angus and char f1's -1 iron cattle. I've fed them 3 years in a row and they perform efficiently! Got them in last year on Feb 1 and they weighed 543 and I sold them the first week of Nov. and had a pay weight of 1382 and I only fed them a 52 ration until the last 100 days then I worked them up to a 62. $15/cwt higher than the park cross cheater calves from the week before. The ave. for the year 105 strs and 1184 hfs is 544.68#'s @ 181.08=$986.30 head. Looking at marketing them in mid Oct. through first of Dec., Hedges will all be made on the Dec futures. Figures based on $5 corn/ 30 cent yardage is a 128 breakeven - All the needed feed is inventoried on farm except for 260 ton of ddgs that will be purchased as needed. How are you coming on buying feeders?
