To really know what direction you are heading you have to use market values of your commodities at present valve or purchased prices. Otherwise how do you know if you are pouring money down a rat hole? For the last few years I would have made far more money is selling my hay than putting it though my milk cows. But if I tried to sell milk cows say for even one year and step down from milking until it was more profitable. I would never get back on the list to be picked up by processor, I would be done.
