Yes, your cattle look clean & comfortable. I agree about them doing better in that condition verses when the lower 1/2 of their body is covered in tag. A good hair coat saves a lot of body heat, not much R-Value in frozen manure & matted hair.

I'm curious, how does a bale of corn stalks compare to cereal straw in your area price-wise?  I've seen some prices bandied about on this site & I'm surprised at how high they are. But them again, I guess cereal straw is high priced too. I've sold cereal straw bales for $30/tonne ($15/bale).
