| My parents always said you have to retire TO something. There are lots of good examples of that written above. My dad retired when he was 65 and I was 24. He became more involved with local politics, serving several years on the county board. Devoted a lot of time to researching stocks and investments. And continued serving at church and traveling. He was just as busy at age 70 as he was at age 60, just in a different way.
