If you could farm a reasonable amount of acres and have a nice life and have time for your family and everything else that is important, that would be great. BUT then there is the neighbour who can make the same money with the same acres and the same amount of work. AND he works a little harder, a little smarter which allows him to cover more acres and all of the sudden what was profitable for you is even more profitable for him, maybe a lot more profitable. Next thing you know your neighbour is the "evil" BTO and he sets the standard to which you have to match. | |
