This is exactly what Central Planning/socialism does. The way to make money, other than a meager living, is to learn to game the system. We may often think that capitalism is vulnerable to a lack of ethical behavior, but there is nothing that compares to socialism/communism/Central Planning for an incubation chamber where corruption thrives. It's the only way to "get ahead" in a system like this.

Who benefits from government subsidies? Insurance companies, for sure. Bankers, for sure. Implement companies. Monsanto. Landowners? Politicians, for sure. What does it do for the individual farmer? Looking at the list, I'd say that undoubtedly it raises our costs. And guarantees full production, whether the market needs all the acres or not. This has to limit our profitability over the years.

I keep coming back to my thought from many years of studying the markets - that whenever government gets involved on economics, they f*** it up.
